Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has praised Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for the confident manner in which he responded to body-shaming trolls during a recent episode of his reality show Bigg Boss 20. Khan addressed the criticism head-on, taking off his shirt and wiping off his makeup on camera as he spoke directly to those mocking his changing appearance.
Shetty shared a video clip of the moment on his Instagram handle, accompanying it with a message directed at the trolls. In the video, Khan revealed that he is aware of who trolls him but deliberately chooses not to respond. He explained that his fan clubs often track down the identities of those spreading negativity, but he prefers to stay silent rather than engage.
Khan went further, alleging that some trolling is financially motivated, with individuals being paid to bring others down, sometimes even backed by film industry figures. He drew a comparison to corruption in film reviews, where money can influence ratings, questioning the credibility of those who criticize others on ethical or moral grounds while engaging in such practices themselves.
Support for Katrina Kaif
During the same segment, Khan also came out in support of his frequent co-star Katrina Kaif, who faced online trolling after her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai. Following the circulation of videos from the event, several social media users compared her current appearance with earlier pictures from her films, drawing criticism.
Without directly naming her, Khan spoke about the broader issue of body-shaming women after pregnancy, questioning why individuals are trolled for gaining weight during this period. He noted that weight gain during pregnancy is natural and that women often regain their fitness once they return to work, emphasizing that new mothers deserve time with their families without facing public scrutiny over their appearance. Kaif welcomed her son Vihaan in November 2025.
