Comedian Sunil Pal has publicly criticised Salman Khan and his reality show Bigg Boss 20, reacting to the host’s recent response to trolls during a Weekend Ka Vaar episode. Sunil described the show as a “gutter show” and called it “duniya ka sabse kalankit” (the world’s most disgraceful) programme, stating that both the host and the contestants are deserving of being trolled.
Clarifying his stance on trolling, Sunil said he does not support online trolls and believes that criticism should be voiced respectfully. However, he maintained that when it comes to Bigg Boss, every individual associated with it, including Salman Khan and the participants, is liable to face trolling. He further claimed that the show negatively influences society and urged Salman to consider shutting it down, alleging that many contestants with questionable backgrounds are cast on the show.
Addressing Salman Khan directly, Sunil said that continuing to be part of such a show does not suit his image and urged him to stop hosting or shooting it altogether. He went on to label Bigg Boss as “nalayak” (worthless) and reiterated that it is the most disgraceful show of its kind.
Comments on Casting and Rhiti Tiwari
Sunil also spoke about Rhiti Tiwari, daughter of politician-actor Manoj Tiwari, who is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 20. He alleged that Salman Khan plays a dominant role in the casting process of the show, claiming that Salman is responsible for nearly 80-90% of the contestant selection. Sunil speculated, without offering any evidence, that Manoj Tiwari may have approached Salman regarding his daughter’s participation in the show.
He also revealed that he himself had been approached for a role in Bigg Boss in the past but chose not to accept it, saying he did not want to compromise his principles. Sunil further raised concerns about favouritism and nepotism within the entertainment industry. When asked by paparazzi whether Salman Khan would be upset by his comments, Sunil responded confidently, asserting that it was the audience and fans, including people like him, who made Salman a star, and not the other way around.
