Schools Across India Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti With Patriotic Fervor and Pledges of Peace

As India marked the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2nd, schools and educational institutions across the country came alive with heartfelt tributes, cultural programs, and solemn pledges to uphold the values the Father of the Nation stood for.

At Gonia Khurd School, students and teachers gathered to observe Gandhi Jayanti with a spirit of commitment toward truth, non-violence, and cleanliness — the three core pillars of Gandhian philosophy. Children offered patriotic songs and recited verses honoring the legacy of Bapu, while also taking a collective pledge to incorporate these ideals into their daily lives.

In Jharkhand, the Church School in Beldih witnessed a particularly touching celebration as young students participated in a colorful tableau procession held in honor of Gandhi Jayanti. The tiny participants dressed in traditional attire and carried banners reflecting Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings, drawing appreciation from teachers, parents, and onlookers alike.

Meanwhile, in Sonipat, Haryana, South Point School organized a dedicated Gandhi Jayanti event where students engaged in activities designed to spread awareness about Gandhi’s timeless message. The program included speeches, cultural performances, and art displays that brought the Mahatma’s ideals to life for a younger generation.

Across the nation, Gandhi Jayanti serves not only as a day of remembrance but also as an occasion to reinforce values that remain deeply relevant in today’s world. Schools use the opportunity to educate children about the importance of peaceful coexistence, personal integrity, and environmental cleanliness — themes championed throughout Gandhi’s life and struggle for Indian independence.

As communities gathered together in celebration and reflection, the day served as a powerful reminder that Gandhi’s vision of a just, compassionate, and self-reliant India continues to inspire millions, particularly the youth who represent the country’s future.
