Social media influencer Nakul Dhull, popularly known as Mitthu Don, has come under scrutiny after old videos containing controversial remarks about women resurfaced online. The clips began circulating again amid reports suggesting he could enter the reality show Bigg Boss 20 as a wildcard contestant.
In one of the videos, Nakul is seen talking to friends about following a woman at night to make her understand fear. He says, “Kisi din ladki ke peeche chal ke dekho 11 baje. Tumhe pata lagega dar kya hota hai.” He goes on to describe following the woman without touching or teasing her, walking faster behind her, suddenly running and overtaking her. He also remarks that men should not be afraid of women, adding that people should be frightened properly if they want to experience real fear. A friend is heard laughing during the exchange. The clip has drawn sharp criticism, with many pointing out that following and deliberately frightening a woman at night can make her feel genuinely threatened, especially given ongoing concerns around women’s safety.
A second video has also resurfaced in which Nakul makes remarks about why he does not socialise with women. In the clip, he says, “Baat aisi hai ki neechi gender ke logon ke saath nahi ghoomte hum. Ye hai neecha gender. Hum hain unche gender ke log,” which translates to, “The thing is, we don’t hang out with people of the lower gender. This is the lower gender. We are the upper gender.” He also uses the word “achhoot,” meaning “untouchable,” while making this comparison. The statement has triggered backlash online, with viewers questioning both the language used to describe women and the implication that men belong to a superior gender.
The videos resurfaced after reports suggested Nakul could enter Bigg Boss 20 as a wildcard contestant, with news reports on October 9 and 10 highlighting the two clips and the criticism they received on social media. His reported wildcard entry was discussed around the October 10 Weekend Ka Vaar episode, alongside television actor Manish Goel, and a promo on October 11 hinted at a possible second wildcard contestant. Reports also claimed Nakul had been removed from the Bigg Boss house following an alleged physical altercation with fellow contestant Gullu.
Nakul Dhull, also known as Mitthu Don, is a social media influencer and content creator from Faridabad, Haryana, known for videos built around humour and commentary. Following the resurfacing of these clips and reports linking him to Bigg Boss 20, the controversy surrounding his past remarks about women has become a central part of the conversation around his reported casting on the show.
