Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 20 is set for a shake-up as reports indicate television actor Manish Goel will enter the house as a wild card contestant. He is expected to join alongside Instagram content creator Nakul Dhull, bringing together a popular digital personality and a recognisable small-screen actor into the mix.
Who is Manish Goel
Manish Goel hails from New Delhi and has built a career spanning several well-known Hindi television shows. He rose to recognition through serials such as Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Ghar Ek Mandir and Bhabhi, where audiences remember him for playing the character Tilak Chopra. His television journey also includes shows like Devi, Nimki Vidhayak, Tantra and Hamari Wali Good News, along with an appearance in Anupamaa.
According to reports, Goel’s interest in acting began during his school days, when he played Lord Ram in a school play. He has also spoken about his upbringing around his father’s salon, where exposure to film magazines and weekly movie outings nurtured his love for cinema. His initial attempt to find work in Mumbai after finishing school did not pan out, prompting his return to Delhi, where he studied interior decoration before eventually making his way into the television industry.
In 2021, Goel reportedly dedicated his time to working on his film Hanak, using the project to understand the filmmaking process more closely. During this period, he also turned down several television offers, stating that the roles offered were too similar to characters he had already portrayed earlier in his career.
Joining a reality show midway presents its own set of challenges, as existing contestants typically have already formed alliances and rivalries by that stage. Goel’s long experience in the television industry may help him adapt quickly to the house dynamics, though he will still need to establish his individual presence among the current contestants. His entry could also prompt existing housemates to unite against the new arrival.
Bigg Boss 20 is available for streaming on JioHotstar, with regular episodes airing on Colors TV and Salman Khan hosting the weekend specials. Whether Goel turns out to be a calculated strategist or an entertaining disruptor inside the house remains to be seen, but his entry brings an experienced television face into an already competitive season.
