Salman Khan Returns to Koffee With Karan 9, Revisits Famous ‘Virgin’ Question

Salman Khan’s new promo for Koffee With Karan season 9 recreates his iconic 2013 ‘virgin’ exchange with host Karan Johar, alongside witty banter on trolling and the show’s coffee hamper.

Salman Khan is set to make a comeback on the Koffee couch, with host Karan Johar reviving one of the most talked-about moments from the actor’s earlier appearance on the show. A newly released promo for the ninth and reportedly final season of Koffee With Karan shows Karan posing the same question to Salman that made headlines back in 2013: “You still a virgin?”

In response, Salman offers a lighthearted comeback, saying, “Control, yaar, brother. Control.” He then flips the question back at Karan, asking, “Ye aisa toh nahi hai na ki last season bol bol ke you got all of us to do Koffee With Karan?” The playful exchange sets an entertaining tone for the upcoming episode.

The Original 2013 Moment

Salman’s original remark traces back to the premiere episode of Season 4, which aired in December 2013. During that conversation, Karan had asked the actor about his relationships and whether he intended to remain celibate until marriage. Salman had replied that he wanted to save himself for his future wife, and when Karan asked outright if he was a virgin, Salman confirmed it was true, adding that he had friends but no benefits and preferred sleeping alone. The moment went on to become one of the most remembered exchanges in the show’s history, and Karan’s decision to bring it up again adds a nostalgic touch to Salman’s return.

The new promo also underlines the long friendship between the actor and the filmmaker. When Karan mentions that he is stepping away from hosting, Salman responds with a nod to their film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, quipping, “Karan, tusi na jao.” Karan then remarks that Salman appears different, “just a lot more composed,” to which Salman jokes, “All the advicees that I’ve given, there has come a time for me to follow my own advices.” The banter reflects the easy rapport the two share.

Trolling, Paparazzi and the Famous Hamper

The conversation in the promo also touches on Salman’s recent comments about online trolling and paparazzi culture, made during his stint on Bigg Boss 20. Addressing the role of mobile phone cameras, Salman says, “Jisne ye phone mein camera, jisne banaya hai, woh agar kahin mujhe mil gaya,” hinting at his frustration with constant public scrutiny fuelled by cameras and social media.

Another lighter moment in the promo involves the show’s signature coffee hamper. When Karan tells Salman he will need to compete for it, the actor responds with a witty line: “Hamper ke liye kyun ladun, Karan? Pamper ke liye ladunga!”

Hosted once again by Karan Johar, the ninth season of Koffee With Karan is scheduled to begin streaming on October 14, 2026, and is being promoted as the show’s final season.
