Raksha Bandhan didn’t perform well on its 5th day also. As the trade expert expected to see a rise as an extended weekend.
Recently the report is out where we can see that both the movies didn’t perform well despite of extended weekend. Talking about the Raksha Bandhan its lifetime collection is 34cr. Whereas talking about the budget of the movie it has been developed on the budget of 110cr which include the heft fee of Akshay Kumar who asked for a 50 per cent upfront fee and then share from the profit.
Talking about the movie collection, the Box office worldwide tweeted and informed us about the performance of both the movies at the box office after an extended weekend which includes independence day on Monday. They write, “Terrible weekend at #BoxOffice with #LaalSinghChaddha struggle to collect 7.65 cr & #Rakshabandhan fell to 6.10 cr, that too on a national holiday. Tomorrow onwards there will be curtains & neither of the films will hit 75 cr lifetime and That’s SHOCKING! No trade expert proved right, NONE!”

The theme of the movie is all about the dowry system in India. Director Anand. L. Rai and the actor Akshay Kumar both have a lot about the theme and story of the movie and tried to present the movie in a fun way possible and at the same time tried to give their message as to the point as possible. With interaction with the media, Akshay Kumar says, “We cannot disagree with the fact that dowry is very much there in India. It’s in the layers. Some call it dowry, gift, ‘Sankalp’. It has different names.
He continues, “Some demand that they want to have the wedding on a large scale. I would call it extortion. The father, and the brother are not that capable, and yet they try to do as much as they can so that it (the wedding) happens,”
