Actor Salman Khan has openly criticized paparazzi photographers for clicking inappropriate photos of actresses from behind, urging women to speak up when they feel uncomfortable with such images. He raised the issue during the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ segment of ‘Bigg Boss 20’.
Salman took aim at the common practice among paparazzi of capturing what he referred to as ‘hip-shots’ of actresses, followed by social media posts asking users to guess the identity of the woman in the photograph. He pointed out that while some actresses may not mind such pictures, many others are clearly uncomfortable with the practice, and their discomfort is often ignored.
He referenced specific instances involving actress Saiee Manjrekar, who he said appeared visibly awkward when photographed this way, and actress Neha Dhupia, who has publicly opposed such photography in the past. Salman also spoke about a personal experience involving his niece, describing how paparazzi photographed her from behind while she was walking and captioned the image asking followers to guess who she was.
Expressing his frustration, Salman advised women who face such treatment to confront the photographers directly, even suggesting they slap them if uncomfortable. He questioned the mindset behind such photography, noting that many women, including those who have since become mothers, have consistently expressed that they never wanted such pictures taken of them, both in the past and now.
