Why does Taapsee write an ode to Mithila ?
Mithila Raj one of the most prominent cricket players in India and the world took to Twitter to share some rather heartbreaking news. She said that she will be resigning from all forms of international cricket from today. She also mentioned that ‘ now is the perfect time to call curtain’. The 39-year-old cricketer has numerous achievements the most important being that she has changed the face of women’s cricket forever. She is an inspiration to all the young girls who were told that cricket is just for boys.
Even today Raj continues to inspire women to dream and constantly break social norms and gender stereotypes. She concluded her note by writing that even though one journey has come to an end there are many to begin. She also states that she wants to be in the game and continue contributing to Women’s cricket. In the end she thanks all her fans, friends, and family for the constant love and support.
What did Taapsee write ?
The internet was aghast and buzzing with this news when Taapsee Pannu writes an ode to Mithila Raj. Taapsee has always had a keen interest in sports and has done movies related to sports previously as well. One of the most recent is Rashmi Rocket which was about a national-level athlete who was forced to go under a gender test by society. Another movie in which Taapsee played a sportsperson is Saand Ki Aankh, where her character accidentally discovers their passion for shooting at the age of 60.
Taapsee and ‘Shabaash Mithu’
Taapsee Pannu also owns a badminton team. She is all set to step in the shoes of Mithila Raj in the biopic ‘Sabash Mithu‘, the announcement of which she had made on Mithila Raj’s birthday in 2019. The teaser of this sports drama was released on 21st March.
The announcement was made through Instagram as well where she wrote ” Happy Birthday Captain. On this birthday I don’t know what gift to give you but this promise that I shall give it all I have to make sure you will be proud of what you see of yourself on screen with Shabaash Mithu”. She ends the note with P.S – I am all prepared to learn the cover drive.
Along with that, she will also be seen in ‘ Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan‘ directed by Arshad Sayed. She will also be seen in Dhunki alongside Shah Rukh Khan this movie will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
