5000 hours of research, interviews of 700 victims, ‘The Kashmir Files’ became like this in 4 years

Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film Kashmir Files is getting the love of the audience continuously, it has been only 4 days since the film was released but the film has recovered its entire budget. The film is now running on the highway of profit. Soon the movie will cross the 50 crore mark.

Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files depicts the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits. At present, this film has broken many such set standards which are believed to be about a film. Like usually a film is discussed in the name of the big stars working in it or if any song of the film becomes a hit before the release of the film. But the most important thing with The Kashmir Files is that the most talked about this film is not about any big star but film director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Although big actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Darshan Kumar have worked in this film. One reason for this is that director Vivek Agnihotri has taken the entire responsibility of the promotion of this film on his shoulders.

Vivek Agnihotri’s press conference in Delhi

Today the first press conference was held in Delhi regarding the film. Usually, a press conference for such a film is held in Mumbai and before the release of the film, but Vivek Agnihotri did his first press conference in Delhi 3 days after the release of the film. The main purpose of holding this press conference was that Vivek Agnihotri wanted to tell how much effort was put into making the film, what details were taken care of as well as how accurate this film is in terms of fact and reality.

Vivek says that 5000 hours of research were done to make this film, 15 thousand pages of documents were collected. In the press conference of about one and a half hours, Vivek Agnihotri also showed a video of 20 minutes. In this video, there was an interview of those Kashmiri Pandits who were actually present in Kashmir in those days. Vivek tells that he and his wife Pallavi Joshi traveled to many countries around the world and many cities of India to meet the real victim Kashmiri Pandits and recorded interviews of more than 700 victimized Kashmiri Pandits. It took a long time of 4 years to make this film. In this 20-minute video, Vivek and Pallavi Joshi are seen wiping their tears while talking to the victims in many places.

Vivek tells that it is the pain of Kashmiri Pandits that they were thrown out of their house. But the biggest pain is that the political system of that time did not allow most of the people to know exactly about how many atrocities were done to Kashmiri Pandits. Governments tried their best to hide this tragedy.

Now preparing to make web series

Vivek says that the suffering Kashmiri Pandits requested many big people of Bollywood to make a film on this issue, but every time they got disappointed. In 2018, when the idea came to him about the film, he also took one-and-a-half months to agree to it. Vivek says it was not easy to take this decision. You face many dangers. You can also be threatened by terrorists and when terrorists attack no police or army comes to save you. However, my wife Pallavi Joshi gave me the courage and we decided that we will make this film as a creative soldier. Currently, The Kashmir Files is getting a lot of love from the audience, Vivek Agnihotri has also announced that soon a web series will also be made on it.
