Bigg Boss 20, hosted by Salman Khan, is once again in the spotlight for reasons beyond the usual in-house rivalries. A heated exchange between contestants Yung DSA and Aasif Khan, targeted at fellow contestant Aman Gandhi, has sparked a wider conversation about the language used to insult male contestants on the show. The remarks, which relied on words traditionally associated with women, have drawn a strong reaction from former Bigg Boss 12 contestant Kriti Verma.
Instead of dismissing the incident as just another spat within the house, Kriti took to her Instagram Stories to question why femininity and everyday tasks performed by women continue to be used as insults against men. Addressing Yung DSA and Aasif Khan directly, she wrote, “Dear Yung, Asif, ‘Jhaaduwali’, ‘chudi mangwate hai?’, ‘lipstick bhi laga kar do thoda inko’, ‘jhaaduwali inko’, ‘Vaseline lagao,’ these words are not just insulting to Aman, they are insulting to women too.”
In her note, Kriti elaborated on why associating simple, everyday activities like wearing bangles, applying lipstick or doing household chores with shame is problematic. “Why is wearing bangles, using lipstick, doing household work or being associated with a ‘jhaaduwali’ considered something to mock a man for? These are things women do every single day, and there is absolutely nothing shameful about any of them,” she wrote. She further argued that framing such remarks as harmless humour only reinforces the notion that anything linked to women is inherently lesser. “Using femininity and women’s everyday lives as an insult only reinforces the idea that these things are somehow inferior,” she added, questioning what society has come to accept as a joke.
The controversial remarks emerged during an intense captaincy task involving a Diss Battle between two teams of contestants. Team Qazi, comprising Kanika Mann, Mahhi Vij, Arishfa Khan, Aman Gandhi, Uditi Singh and Isha Rikhi, competed against Team Yung DSA, which included Yung DSA, Aasif Khan, Amrapali Dubey, Scout and Rhiti. Contestants were tasked with roasting their opponents as part of the captaincy race, with Team Yung DSA winning the first round before tensions escalated during the later ‘Rejected Stamp’ phase.
The situation grew more heated when Rhiti Tiwari and Uditi Singh clashed personally, prompting an angry response from Qazi Touqeer. The strategic rejection stamps used by Team Qazi eventually led to the elimination of contestants including Yung DSA and Rhiti from the captaincy race, further intensifying the drama inside the Bigg Boss 20 house.
