Bigg Boss 20 contestant Qazi Touqeer’s team has pushed back against Kanika Mann and Amrapali Dubey after the two reacted strongly to his use of the word ‘lollipop’ during a recent episode of the show. The team alleged that Qazi was being repeatedly targeted and defamed, insisting that his comment was made in a light-hearted and innocent manner.
In a statement posted on social media, Qazi’s team wrote, “We strongly oppose the repeated targeting and defamation of Qazi each week.” They pointed out that host Salman Khan had already clarified the meaning behind the ‘lollipop’ remark during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, yet the controversy continued to be misinterpreted. The team added, “Salman Khan sir clearly explained what ‘lollipop’ meant during Weekend Ka Vaar. Kanika herself understood the context and spoke to Qazi about it, acknowledging that she had taken it the wrong way.”
Taking a jibe at Kanika Mann, the team accused her of attempting to stay relevant by stirring controversy, writing “Kahin toh nazar aa jaun show mein.” They also brought up the ball task controversy inside the house, claiming that Kanika had initially suggested Qazi take part in the task before later objecting to it. Calling this behaviour “hypocrisy at its peak,” the team urged other contestants to stop making character-based allegations against Qazi.
The team also directly addressed Bhojpuri actress Amrapali Dubey, questioning her reaction to the word ‘lollipop’. They asked, “Why does your mind always seem to find a double meaning first?” Referring to her past dance performances on the popular Bhojpuri song ‘Lollipop Lagelu’, they wrote, “So, Amrapali, tell us honestly- all over the internet, your videos of dancing and enjoying on ‘Lollipop Lagelu’ are available. Were you doing it willingly, or were you forced? Because inside the Bigg Boss house, the same word suddenly seems impossible for you to tolerate when it comes to Qazi.”
Concluding their statement, Qazi’s team questioned why his name kept getting linked to such insinuations, terming the allegations “unfair and character-based,” and appealed to people to stop associating him with such interpretations.
