Qazi Touqeer’s team has broken its silence on the ongoing ‘Lollipop’ controversy surrounding his exchange with fellow contestant Kanika Mann inside the Bigg Boss 20 house. The team has objected to what it calls continuous targeting of Qazi and has also addressed the separate Ball Task row, claiming that harmless moments from the show are being misrepresented as controversies.
The row began after a playful role-play conversation between Qazi and Kanika, during which Kanika asked him, “Kaunsa subject padhna hai?” Qazi responded with a reference to a lollipop, which led Kanika to question his intent behind the remark. Qazi later clarified that his comment was a reference to Hrithik Roshan’s character from the film Koi… Mil Gaya and denied any inappropriate meaning behind it. The disagreement between the two contestants has continued since then.
The issue was also raised during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, where host Salman Khan reportedly addressed the context behind Qazi’s remark. In a statement posted on social media, Qazi’s team wrote, “We strongly oppose the repeated targeting and defamation of Qazi each week.” The statement further added, “Salman Khan sir clearly explained what ‘lollipop’ meant during Weekend Ka Vaar. Kanika herself understood the context and spoke to Qazi about it, acknowledging that she had taken it the wrong way.” The team also took a dig at Kanika, writing, “Kahin toh nazar aa jaun show mein,” implying the matter was being unnecessarily blown out of proportion.
Addressing the separate Ball Task controversy, Qazi’s team claimed that Kanika herself had suggested he perform push-ups on a ball during the task but later portrayed the same moment in a negative light. The team called this “hypocrisy at its peak” and argued that such moments inside the house should be judged with complete context rather than used to level allegations against Qazi.
The team also responded to Bhojpuri actress Amrapali Dubey’s reaction to the ‘Lollipop’ remark, questioning why she interpreted the word with a double meaning. Referring to her dance videos on the Bhojpuri song “Lollipop Lagelu,” the team wrote, “So, Amrapali, tell us honestly- all over the internet, your videos of dancing and enjoying on ‘Lollipop Lagelu’ are available. Were you doing it willingly, or were you forced? Because inside the Bigg Boss house, the same word suddenly seems impossible for you to tolerate when it comes to Qazi.”
