Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi Release Delayed Again, Film Yet To Be Sent To CBFC

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi remains in post-production with no confirmed release date, as composer Ravi Basrur works on the score and makers finalize changes before CBFC submission.

Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film Maatrubhumi continues to face delays, months after its originally planned April release was postponed. The Apoorva Lakhia directorial still does not have a confirmed new release date, and recent updates suggest the film is far from ready for certification.

According to a report by Variety India, Maatrubhumi remains in post-production, and its final cut has not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). A source told the publication that composer Ravi Basrur is currently working on the film’s background score at Octavia Studios, while the filmmakers continue incorporating requested changes into the film. The source stated that the makers are yet to arrive at a final cut, and the film will only be sent for certification once all remaining changes are completed and the version is locked.

Speculation around the film’s release date has been rife, with social media reports pointing to possible Diwali or Christmas release windows. However, the makers have not made any official announcement regarding a release date. According to the source cited by Variety India, the release strategy will only be decided after the final cut is locked and the CBFC certification process begins, meaning earlier reported timelines should be treated as speculative for now.

Adding to the anticipation around the project, Salman Khan is reportedly set to portray an Indian Army officer in Maatrubhumi. Meanwhile, the actor has several other projects lined up, including a film titled Monster with director Vamshi Paidipally, which is expected to feature Nayanthara and has been linked to an Eid release next year, though this remains unconfirmed. Salman has also been linked to a superhero project from the makers Raj & DK, though no official details have been confirmed. For now, Maatrubhumi’s release continues to depend on the completion of its final cut and subsequent CBFC certification.
