Businessman and former IPL chairman Lalit Modi has finally spoken openly about his relationship and breakup with actress Sushmita Sen, nearly four years after their romance became a viral topic on social media. In a recent interview, Lalit described Sushmita as “very special” and shared details about why their relationship eventually came to an end.
According to Lalit Modi, the major reason behind their breakup was the long-distance nature of their relationship. While Sushmita’s life and career were based in India, Lalit was living in London, making it difficult for the couple to maintain their relationship over time. Despite the separation, Lalit said he still has “fond memories” of their time together and continues to respect her deeply.
Lalit also spoke about the famous social media post from 2022 that officially revealed their relationship to the world. He admitted that the post was made impulsively after the couple had a small argument during a flight. Recalling the moment, Lalit revealed that Sushmita did not expect him to upload the pictures publicly. However, he posted them anyway, and by the time the flight landed, the internet had exploded with reactions.
The businessman further defended Sushmita against “gold digger” allegations that surfaced online after their relationship became public. Lalit strongly rejected those claims and even joked that he felt like the “kept boyfriend” because Sushmita often paid for their outings.
Although their relationship did not last, Lalit Modi’s latest comments show that there is still mutual respect and admiration between the two personalities.
