England Women Clinch T20I Series with Record Chase Against India Women

England Women sealed the three-match T20I series 2-1 with an impressive six-wicket victory over India Women in the third and final match at Taunton. Chasing a challenging target of 181 runs, England produced one of their finest batting displays to complete the highest successful T20I chase on home soil.

India Women posted a competitive total of 180/5 after being asked to bat. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with an unbeaten 56, while valuable contributions from the middle order helped India build a strong platform. The visitors looked well-positioned to secure the series after setting a demanding target.

England’s chase got off to a shaky start as they slipped to 38/3. However, Alice Capsey and Heather Knight turned the game around with a magnificent partnership. Capsey played a match-winning knock of 82, attacking the Indian bowlers with confidence and aggression. Knight provided excellent support, remaining unbeaten on 70 and guiding the chase to perfection. Their partnership of over 130 runs completely shifted the momentum in England’s favor.

The hosts eventually reached the target with nine balls to spare, completing a memorable victory and securing the series. The result gives England a major confidence boost ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, while India will look to build on several positive performances despite falling short in the decider.

With both teams showing quality throughout the series, fans can expect another exciting contest when they meet again in future international fixtures.
