The team of ‘Bigg Boss 20’ contestant Rhiti Tiwari has responded to allegations made by her ex-stepfather and Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa, who accused Rhiti and her mother, Rani Tiwari, of ‘torturing’ him during the period they lived together. On Monday, Rhiti’s team issued a statement through her official Instagram Stories, dismissing Ekam’s claims as false and appealing to the media to verify facts before publishing such reports.
The statement expressed disappointment over the spread of what it called defamatory allegations across various media platforms, noting that Rhiti, currently a contestant inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, is unable to personally respond to the claims. Her team requested media outlets to exercise caution and give the family a fair opportunity to present their side before amplifying such accusations. The statement also confirmed that necessary legal action has already been initiated against Ekam Bawa in connection with the allegations.
What Ekam Bawa Alleged
Ekam Bawa had earlier shared a video on his social media account alleging that Rhiti and Rani subjected him to mistreatment while he lived with them. He recounted a specific incident in which he claimed Rhiti entered his room, pulled all his clothes off the hangers in his cupboard, and threw them on the floor, before allegedly telling him to leave the house, addressing him directly by name. Ekam said he was taken aback by this behaviour and questioned her about the nature of their relationship at the time.
Ekam also disputed Rhiti’s earlier claims regarding a monthly allowance of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000, calling them entirely false. He pointed out that she owns handbags worth Rs 4 to 5 lakh and expensive cars, adding that simply maintaining a Range Rover costs between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh, suggesting her lifestyle contradicted her claims of a limited allowance.
