Bigg Boss 20 contestant Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, has been in the news for his equations with fellow contestants inside the house. After spending the initial weeks trying to get close to Kanika Mann, he has now been seen showing interest in Love Gill. Amid these developments, Gullu made a surprising personal revelation during a conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer, opening up about a difficult chapter from his past involving marriage and divorce.
During the candid chat, Gullu told Qazi that what he had experienced was not just an ordinary heartbreak but something far more serious. He revealed that he had been married and later went through a divorce. When Qazi, taken aback by the disclosure, asked if the marriage was indeed a legitimate one, Gullu confirmed it and shared that the divorce took place in 2024.
Speaking further about the experience, Gullu described it as an extremely depressing phase of his life. He said the marriage had lasted only four to five months, and although many people around him felt it was a wrong decision, he kept trying to make it work before eventually realising the relationship was not sustainable. He also mentioned that in his community, marriages often happen at a young age, and he had married primarily due to family pressure and expectations.
Gullu added that despite the difficulties, he remained hopeful during that period, believing that life would eventually offer him better opportunities. This mindset pushed him to redirect his energy into his work. He revealed that the divorce proceedings coincided with his time on Roadies XX, recalling how he was in Goa with his Roadies team when pictures from his wedding were leaked online.
The Splitsvilla X6 winner further shared that his family had strongly opposed his decision to seek a divorce, which led to a period of estrangement. He explained that there were intense disagreements within the family over the issue, and that it took nearly a year for things to settle down. Gullu admitted that the entire experience took a significant emotional toll on him, though he expressed relief at having moved past it. His revelation left fellow contestants and viewers surprised.
Kushal Tanwar has previously appeared as a contestant on Roadies Double Cross, Splitsvilla 16 and Maa Hain Na, and is known for winning three reality shows consecutively. He is currently serving as the captain of the Bigg Boss 20 house.
