The team managing Bigg Boss 20 contestant Rhiti Tiwari has responded to allegations made by her ex-stepfather, Punjabi singer Ekam Bawa, who claimed that Rhiti and her mother, Rani Tiwari, had ‘tortured’ him during the period they lived together. In a statement posted on Rhiti’s official Instagram Stories on Monday, her team dismissed the claims as false and said they have taken the necessary legal steps against Bawa.
The statement expressed disappointment over the way Ekam Bawa’s allegations were being circulated across various media platforms without verification. It pointed out that since Rhiti is currently a contestant inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, she is unable to respond to the claims herself. The team appealed to the media to verify facts before giving further coverage to what they described as defamatory allegations, and asked for the family to be given a fair opportunity to present their side.
The statement concluded by confirming that legal action has already been initiated against Ekam Bawa in connection with the allegations he made.
What Ekam Bawa Alleged
Ekam Bawa had earlier shared a video on his social media account alleging that Rhiti and her mother Rani used to mistreat him while he lived with them. In the video, he recounted an incident where he claimed Rhiti entered his room, pulled all his clothes off the hangers in his cupboard, and threw them on the floor, before telling him to leave. He said he was taken aback that she addressed him by his full name and claimed he questioned her about the nature of their relationship.
Bawa also disputed Rhiti’s earlier claims of receiving a monthly allowance of Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000, calling them completely false. He alleged that she owns handbags worth Rs 4 to 5 lakh and expensive cars, adding that maintaining a Range Rover alone costs around Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh.
