The Sholay actor had become so poor that he did not have money to even pay his medical bills. And he had to take financial help of Rs. 20 lakh from his co-star Amitabh Bachchan. This shows that side-actors are paid peanuts in bollywood as compared to main leads. Unlike Hollywood, where every actor in a movie is given due importance.

Shweta Basu Prasad

The daughter of Parvati in ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’ or the little chunni in ‘Makdee’’ or ‘Khadija in ‘Iqbal’, Shweta was a huge child star, but in the greed of earning more and more money she got into a sex racket in her early adulthood, which in turn made her more poorer.
Though she has bounced back from that now and was recently seen in bollywood movie ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania and other south movie and also starred in a hit Star Plus daily soap, ‘Chandra Nandini’

Neeraj Vora:

The actor who gave successful films like Mann and Akele Hum Akele Tum went into a blackhole of poverty due to his serious brain stroke. No one from bollywood offered to help him except Firoze Nadiadwala.

Raj Kiran

The ‘Karz’ actor went missing suddenly for a decade after a series of hit films. No one was able to find out where he had disappeared. Until after serious search, his friend Rishi Kapoor found him in a mental asylum fighting severe mental illness which had left him poor.

SATISH KAUL

He is the recipient of lifetime achievement in Punjabi Cinema. He is born Kashmiri and has worked for many Punjabi and Hindi movies. At present he is hospitalised and also bankrupted enough to not able to pay bills.

ABHAY DEOL

After failure of his film named One By Two, Abhay Deol sold his house to pay the bills.
