A disturbing video from Jamui district in Bihar, showing a boy and girl being harassed, has sparked widespread outrage across social media. Bihar Police have swiftly moved to identify seven individuals allegedly involved in the incident, as public anger continues to mount over the footage.
According to reports, the video depicts a young woman and her male companion, said to be Class 10 students, being stopped on a road. The pair was allegedly harassed, humiliated, and subjected to molestation. Descriptions of the video indicate that the girl was seen with her hands folded, pleading to be let go, while the group of men reportedly groped her and dragged her away.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident, describing the allegations as involving public molestation, assault, wrongful restraint, and harassment of the young woman and her companion. NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has responded to the matter following the video’s circulation online.
The incident has drawn strong reactions from political leaders, several of whom have demanded strict action against the accused under the POCSO Act. Social media users have expressed shock and anger over the footage, with many questioning how such an incident could occur in public view. Bihar Police have confirmed that seven suspects have been identified in connection with the case as investigations continue.
