A day after a shocking case of sexual assault on a teenager in Bihar’s Jamui, another disturbing incident has surfaced from Nawada district, where government schoolgirls have accused their headmaster of harassment. In a video that went viral on social media, the students alleged that the headmaster forcefully entered their washroom, touched them inappropriately, and threatened them, raising fresh concerns over law and order in the state.
The video, shared widely on platforms including X, showed the girls crying while narrating their ordeal. They alleged that the headmaster had entered the girls’ washroom and forced them to sit on his lap. The students further claimed that he threatened them, an incident they said left them deeply disturbed.
Congress MP Pawan Khera shared the video on X and strongly criticised the Bihar government over the incident. He pointed out that this came close on the heels of the Jamui case, where a teenage boy and girl were allegedly harassed by miscreants. Khera said the Bihar government must improve policing standards, accountability, and basic social order, adding that if girls cannot walk on the streets or use a school washroom without fear, the government should step down in shame.
Following the allegations, students and their parents staged a massive protest inside the school campus on September 18. The protest led to the arrest of the headmaster under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The incident reportedly took place a day before the moral policing case in Jamui, where a group of local miscreants sexually harassed a class 10 girl student, a case that also triggered widespread outrage after a video of the assault went viral.
The Jamui case had further escalated after a JDU leader described it as a minor incident, drawing sharp criticism before he later apologised for his remarks. Following public backlash, Bihar police arrested a total of six accused in that case. Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, has also criticised the state government over what he called the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar.
